Tom Lee2026-10-08 15:27:45Tom Lee says tokenized assets may be the main force behind this crypto cycleBitmine Chairman Tom Lee said the current crypto bull market could be driven by a stronger core theme than in prior cycles, pointing to tokenization as a market opportunity that is larger than earlier retail-led narratives. He compared several past phases of the market, saying the 2016 to 2017 bull run was dominated by retail participants, while the 2019 to 2021 cycle was largely fueled by NFTs and also centered on retail demand. Last year, he said, the major theme was the rapid growth of stablecoins. Lee argued that the bigger force in the current cycle is the move to bring real-world assets, or RWA, and traditional financial assets on-chain. He put the size of global liquid assets at about $200 trillion, with stocks, bonds, and credit accounting for roughly $160 trillion of that total. If 10% of those assets were to move on-chain, he said, that would represent a market of about $16 trillion. Lee also said that for every $1 of assets tokenized or locked into an L1 blockchain ecosystem, that blockchain typically gains about $1 in value.90
Attack2026-09-07 05:25:52Rocket L1 Blockchain Suffers $287K Attack, Pauses All Deposits and WithdrawalsRocket, a Layer 1 blockchain, disclosed a September 5 on-chain attack that resulted in approximately $287,000 in losses. The attacker exploited a dormant perpetual market by posting artificially inflated price orders through a one-time account and trading against themselves, generating fake profits while bankrupting that account. The funds were then withdrawn via the Bridge. All deposits, withdrawals, and trading have been suspended. The team is cooperating with security firms, law enforcement, exchanges, bridges, and stablecoin issuers to trace and freeze the stolen assets. A recovery plan prioritizing small-account refunds is being developed, with details to be announced soon.850
Decred2026-08-25 05:53:49Decred says mainnet inflation bug was exploited, minting about 2,077.97 DCRDecred said an inflation bug on its mainnet was exploited between Aug. 16 and Aug. 17, resulting in the creation of about 2,077.97 DCR. The L1 blockchain said the flaw had been present in its consensus code since the mainnet launch in February 2016. According to the project, the issue stemmed from improper handling of an edge case involving interactions between the regular transaction tree and the stake transaction tree, which allowed double-spent inputs. Decred said the bug was submitted through its bounty program on Aug. 12, but it was exploited before a fix was deployed. The team decided not to roll back the chain in order to reduce the impact on users. It also said the roughly 2,000 newly minted DCR do not affect the network’s 21 million hard cap and remain far below more than 215,000 DCR in subsidies that were historically not issued because of missed votes and other reasons. The team has since developed an additional double-spend monitoring service and said it plans to improve its emergency upgrade signaling mechanism.930

Users receive 20 Rialo points after logging in, while early ecosystem contributors and existing community members will also get retroactive rewards. Rialo said more ways to earn points are coming, along with new ways to use them within the ecosystem.1560
Dango2026-07-25 06:59:58Dango to wind down operations, halt trading on July 29 and shut L1 network on Aug. 13DeFi platform Dango said it will cease operations, laying out a two-step shutdown schedule that includes a trading halt on July 29 and the closure of its L1 blockchain on Aug. 13. The team said that despite making its best efforts, it was unable to find a viable path to long-term commercial success for the project. According to the announcement, user funds remain safe and withdrawal restrictions will be lifted in the near term. Dango urged users to close positions and withdraw funds as soon as possible. It also warned users about slippage risk because liquidity is expected to decline during the wind-down process. At 12:00 UTC on July 29, the platform will stop trading. Remaining positions will be settled using oracle prices, DLP Vault deposits will be unlocked, and all funds will be returned to users’ spot accounts in USDC. At 12:00 UTC on Aug. 13, the Dango L1 blockchain will stop operating, and any funds not yet withdrawn will be sent back to users’ deposit addresses on Ethereum. The team said it regrets being unable to continue the project and thanked the community for its long-term support.1460
